(In continuation of Two Culture Theory)
By Akram Alwari Today,in the world of capitalism ,philosophy of business is based on greed, exploitation, unthinkable and unexpected tactics ,voilation of codes of ethics and award of a licence to be bad and rogue to encourage the all business lords. The above lines presents a critical and somewhat cynical view of capitalism, particularly focusing on its negative aspects which are not perceived but self explantory and widely exposedto world experts. Here’s a breakdown of the key points: 1. Philosophy of Business Based on Greed: The philosophy of business suggests that the driving force behind business in a capitalist system is greed. This implies that the primary motivation for entrepreneurs and business leaders is to maximize profits, often at the expense of other considerations like social welfare or ethical behavior. 2. Exploitation: The dark aspect of practical capitalism is fostering exploitation. This could refer to the exploitation of workers, where labor is undervalued and workers are paid minimal wages while business owners reap significant profits. It might also refer to the exploitation of natural resources, where environmental concerns are overlooked in the pursuit of profit. 3. Unthinkable and Unexpected Tactics: This phrase suggests that businesses in a capitalist system might resort to unethical or unconventional methods to gain a competitive edge. This could include practices like corporate espionage, misleading advertising, or other forms of deceit. 4. Violation of Codes of Ethics: Most of the critics claim that capitalism often leads to the violation of ethical codes. This could mean that businesses prioritize profit over ethical considerations, leading to actions that harm consumers, employees, or the environment. 5. Award of a Licence to be Bad : Using this metaphorical way of saying as the title of his book ,Jonathan Aldred criticises that capitalism allows or even encourages businesses to engage in unethical behavior. The “licence to be bad” implies that the system is structured in such a way that unethical actions are not only tolerated but sometimes rewarded. 6. Encouragement of Business Lords: The term “business lords” likely refers to powerful business leaders or capitalists who dominate the market. The operating philosophy suggests that the capitalist system empowers these individuals, allowing them to act in their own self-interest without sufficient checks and balances. Overall, the operating philosophy of business portrays capitalism as a system that prioritizes profit over ethical considerations, leading to exploitation and unethical behavior. It reflects a critical perspective on capitalism, highlighting its potential downsides and the ways in which it can lead to negative outcomes for society as a whole. It’s important to note, this writer has no objection on the blessings of capitalism. It is undeniable fact that capitalism, when properly regulated, can lead to innovation, economic growth, and improved standards of living but ,operating philosophy of capitalism, dark aspects of dual human nature are tentionally or intentionanlly ignored.Creative potential is abused and universal ethics of business are destroyed.
